ABILENE, Texas - Lenore Alkire, 78, of Abilene died Friday, Sept. 18, 1998, at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene with Bill Luttrell, James Fulbright and Cecil Alexander officiating. Burial is under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home.
Mrs. Alkire was born in Greene County, Indiana. She and Orval Lyman Alkire were married Dec. 31, 1935, in Greene County. He died in 1985.
She attended all public schools in Greene County, lived in Idaho from 1948 to 1975 and moved to Abilene in 1985. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Hillcrest Church of Christ in Abilene, served as historian and chaplain of Major Francis Grice Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution in Wichita Falls and was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Erma Jean Loveland of Abilene, Norma Harrell of Wichita Falls, two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
