News of Death of Former Globe Woman
The many friends of Mrs. J.C. Ramsdell, who, until five years ago, was a well known resident of this city, will learn with the deepest regret other death yesterday noon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.A. Lucas, at Cucamonga, Cal.
News of her death was received in a telegram by City Engineer B.F. Van Wagenen, a grandson of Mrs. Ramsdell, yesterday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. G.S. Van Wagenen of this city, who left here for Cucamonga Monday morning, arrived there at about two hours after Mrs. Ramsdell died.
Besides Mrs. W.A. Lucas of Cucamonga, Cal., Mrs. Ramsdell leave another daughter, Mrs. G.S. Van Wagenen of this city; and three grandchildren, B.F. Van Wagenen and Miss Sue Van Wagenen of this city, and J.H. Van Wagenen of Los Angeles. Mrs. Ramsdell is also survived by two brothers, Charles Stevens and Isaac Stevens of Clifton; and one sister, Mrs. Richard Hudson of Silver City, N.M.
The funeral will be held at the home of Mrs. W.A. Lucas in Cucamonga and interment will be in Los Angeles, where the husband of the deceased was taken for burial about twelve years ago.
Mrs. J.C. Ramsdell came to this city to live about twenty-nine years ago, and during her residence here she made a host of firm friends. She was about 80 years old.
