Arthur Galen Stevens, 88, of South Webster, Ohio, peacefully departed this life on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 22, 2001. A retired executive of Nationwide Insurance and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Stevens is survived by a long list of loving family members from both Virginia and Ohio; his son, Arthur Galen Stevens III of Richmond and his wife, Barbara; his oldest daughter, Sue Ellen Perkinson, also of Richmond; his youngest daughter, Elizabeth (Betsy) Ann Lorr of Dublin, Ohio, and her husband, Arthur; the grandchildren of his son, Gail Burgess, Linda Sayles, Maribeth Garner, Susan Morgan, Terry Armstrong and Cathy Cole; the grandchildren of his oldest daughter, Mary Kathryn Perkinson, Steven Page Perkinson and Ruth Perkinson; and the grandchildren of his youngest daughter, Rebecca Paltani, Maureen Wardlow and Arthur Lorr III. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, Thomas Burgess, Jeffrey Burgess, Cynthia Sayles, John Garner, Christopher Garner, Jason Garner, Dean Morgan, Nicholas Morgan, David Armstrong, John Armstrong, Abbie Cole, Connor Cole, Chad Perkinson and Kyle Perkinson. Mr. Stevens' remains rest at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, November 29, at the Immaculate Conception Church, 414 E.N. Broadway, Columbus, Ohio. Funeral services will be held afterwards at the New Lexington Cemetery in New Lexington, Ohio at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, family members suggest that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
