CALDWELL — Funeral services for Ancil K. (Buck) Steunenberg, 73, of 1903 Everett, Caldwell, who died in Caldwell Saturday morning, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Boone Memorial United Presbyterian church under the direction of the Dakan Chapel.
The Rev. Robert A. Reed and Dr. W. W. Hall, McCall, will officiate. Interment will be at Canyon Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Steunenberg was born Jan. 20, 1896, in Caldwell. He was reared in Caldwell, attended schools there, and was graduated from the College of Idaho in 1919 and received a master of arts degree from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1930.
He married Lorraine Brooks at Caldwell on March 25, 1921. He was a professor at the College of Idaho from 1921 to 1961, where he was head of the physics department. He played the stringed bass in the College of Idaho Symphony Orchestra. He was a member of the American Association of Physics Teachers, and the Boone Memorial United Presbyterian Church, an honorary member of the Rotary Club, and a past president of the Toastmaster's Club of Caldwell. He had been a member of the City of Caldwell Zoning Board for 25 years and was an elder in the Boone Memorial United Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Joan Carpender, Mundelein, Ill.; a son, Dr. Robert K. Steunenberg, Naterville, Ill.; a sister, Miss Beth Steunenberg, Caldwell; and a brother, Tom Steunenberg, Manhattan, Kan., and three grandsons.
Friends may call at the Dakan Chapel until 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday until 12 noon.
The family suggests contributions to the Boone Memorial United Presbyterian Church Organ Fund.
