Charlotte "Bunty" Ritter Upton Sternberg died September 9, 2012 in Humboldt County California. She was born to Margaret and Charles Ritter in Los Angeles California on May 16, 1926. She married Alfred C. Upton who died in a 1955 hunting accident.

She was a registered nurse for many years at Crestwood Manor and was a member of Humboldt Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and the Foster Grandparents program at Cutten-Ridgewood School.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Alfred C. Upton; parents Margaret and Charles Ritter; daughter Peggy Letz and son Steven Upton.

She is survived by her children: Sue Cerna, Penny Long, Sandy Clair-Marks, Alfred Upton, Allayne Parker, Deborah Herring, Bettina Huff-Denny, Barbara Slater, Lynda Brown, and David Eric Wilson. She has 39 Grandchildren, 41 Great Grand children and 7 Great-Great Grandchildren and another on the way. She is also survived by her Sister Barbara Silveria and Sister-in-Law A. Patricia Bumpus of Springfield, IL; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life was held on October 6th at the Humboldt Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Bayside, CA.
