Military graveside services for Elzie Stephens, age 85, of Yantis, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 9, 2014 at Yantis Cemetery with Jeremy Durig officiating. David Folmar, Jason Folmar, Bryan Stephens, Garrett Stephens, Stephen Christianson, David Christianson and Clayton Christianson will serve as Pallbearers. Visitation is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel Elzie Stephens passed on Monday, May 5, 2014 at Hospice of East Texas. He was born in Yantis on September 12, 1928, the son of Ruben Jarrell and Artie Lee (Wright) Stephens. He proudly served in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict. He retired after 32 years from LTV Aerospace in Grand Prairie. He was a 57 year master mason of Masonic Lodge in Yantis and Order of the Eastern Star in Quitman. Survivors include: Two daughters, Debbi Stephens Folmar Booth and husband Don of Fort Smith, AR and Dale Stephens Woods Mattison and husband Mickie of Sulphur Springs; three sons, Ronnie Stephens and wife Kim of Yantis, Randy Stephens and Robert Stephens of Louisiana; two sisters, Dorothy Yarborough and Jean Tullis both of Yantis; grandchildren, Jimmy David Folmar, Janice DeAnna Folmar Stone, Jason Dale Folmar, Gary Woods, Krystal Woods, Bryan David Stephens, Garrett Lane Stephens, Avery Loren Stephens; and six great-grandchildren, Lane, Charlotte, Jolie, Zackery, Meredith and Blake. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ruben Gail Stephens and Johnie Tom Stephens.
