Charles was a Wabash High School graduate and graduated from Wabash College and Purdue University. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity at Wabash College.
Son of Ora and Ruth (Kibbe) Stephens. He had lived in Garland the past nine years, moving there from Huntington, Indiana. He married Nancy Hiatt on Aug. 21, 1959 and she survives. Also surviving is a son, Brent Stephens, three daughters, Debbie, Julie and Holly; two brothers, Sam and John; and one grandchild.
He was an employee of the E. systems, Garland Division, Dallas. He was a member of the Central Christian Church of Richardson, Texas.
