Military records for G. W. M. Quillen Steele show he enlisted in Co G, 58th Alabama Infantry, CSA. I can find no record showing he was part of a Texas regiment. He did die at Fairgrounds Hospital No 2 in Atlanta on Nov 5, 1863. The Battle of Atlanta and Battle of Kennesaw Mountain was not until 1864. Most of the soldiers buried in the Marietta Confederate Cemetery died in these two battles. I am still searching to determine where the hospital buried their dead.
