Glenda S. Rubino, 66, of Mystic, beloved wife of 50 years to Joseph A. Rubino Jr. passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 11th 2010 at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Greenville, N.C. she was the daughter of the late Lebert and Elizabeth (Wainwright) Starling and lived in Mystic for 46 years.

Glenda was the Banquet Manager and Bridal Consultant with the Ramada Inn in Mystic for many years up until her retirement in 1994.

She enjoyed taking many camping trips over the years with her husband throughout New England and up into Canada. Glenda also loved her hobby of scrapbooking and was a NY Yankees fan.

Most of all, spending time with her grandchildren was her greatest pleasure.

Besides her husband Joseph, she leaves four children, Lisa Wisniewski and her husband, Stephen, of Groton, Laura Stack and her husband, Hugh, of Mystic, Joseph A. Rubino III of Hope Valley, RI., and Timothy Rubino and his fiance, Denise Picou, both of Waterford; two sisters, Pamela Bandi and her fiance, Greg Cluff, both of Waterford, and Donna Starling and her fiance, Kenneth Main, both of Stonington; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, James, and Katherine Stack, Ashley Rubino, Brianna and Alexandra Wisniewski, and Ryan Rubino; a great-granddaughter, Jadyn; sister-in-law, Marie Nourie and her husband, Robert, of Mystic; her former daughter-in-law, Sarah Rubino of Oakdale; her two beloved dogs, Autumn Rose and Jeter; and a close family friend, Vincent Guglielmino.

The family will receive friends Monday, March 15th from 10:00 AM 12:00 PM followed by a service at 12:00 PM at the Mystic Funeral Home Route 1 Mystic. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Patrick Church 32 East Main St. Mystic, CT. 06355.
