Doris M. Molland, 82, a native of North Dakota passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas. She was born July 28, 1930 in Grafton, North Dakota. She was the daughter of the late Alfred John Stark and Christine Mohagen Stark. Her brothers Gordon Stark and Fred Stark, both of Grafton, North Dakota preceded her in death.

Doris grew up on a family farm near Grafton, North Dakota. She attended Grafton public schools and graduated from high school in 1947. Thereafter, she pursued a career in nursing and graduated from St. Lukes Hospital School of Nursing in Fargo, North Dakota in 1950. She was married to Robert Thomas Molland in 1952 and began raising a family as well as pursing a nursing career. She enjoyed her work as a registered nurse and she was known to be a compassionate, kind-hearted, and dedicated individual. Her nursing career included a diversity of positions ranging from surgical, hospital, nursing home, and public health nursing areas. After 30 years of marriage, she and Robert divorced and she never remarried. Prior to her retirement in 1992, she was the administrator of the Upper Missouri District Health unit in Williston, North Dakota. She moved to Fargo, North Dakota in 2000 and later returned to Williston, North Dakota in 2010.

She lived in various places including Osnabrock, Flasher, Beulah, Watford City, Scobey, MT, Fargo, and Williston North Dakota. She was involved in numerous organizations including North Dakota Nurse's Association, Toast Mistress International, Federated Women's Club, North Dakota Health Association, Sons of Norway, Nordic Cultural Clubs, North Dakota Public Employees Retiree's Association, as well as others. Doris was listed in the 1984 Edition of "Who's Who in North Dakota". She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, in Williston, North Dakota.

Doris is survived by her four children Michael (Joy) Molland, Anchorage, AK; Elizabeth Molland (Earl Sufficool), Sparks, NV; Jeffrey (Rita) Molland, Alpharetta, GA; John (Julie) Molland, Odessa, TX. She is also survived by Kathleen Molland (former daughter-in-law and very special friend), Williston, ND; grandchildren Rebecca (Jason) Sinness, Williston, ND; Teresa Molland, E. Dubuque, IL; Brandon and Trayton Molland, Fargo, ND; great-grandchildren Clara Henson, Williston, ND and Marissa Petitgout, E. Dubuque, IL; sister-in-laws Betty Stark and Donna Stark both of Grafton, ND as well as several nieces and nephews.

Doris will be loved and missed. Her biggest joys in life were her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and close family members and friends. A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Tollefson Funeral Home Chapel in Grafton, ND. Burial will follow at Grafton Lutheran Cemetery. In addition, a special gathering and reception will follow at the Stark family homestead near Grafton, North Dakota.

Interment will be in the Grafton Lutheran Cemetery, Grafton, ND
