Wilhelmina "Minnie" Briese, 91, of Cavalier, ND passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural St. Thomas, ND. Burial will be held in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.

Wilhelmina Stark was born September 1, 1922, near Neche, ND to John and Mathilda (Lembke) Stark. She grew up in the Neche area where she attended country school. On December 11, 1946, she married Marvin Briese at Bathgate, ND. After their marriage they farmed in the Glasston, ND area and later owned and operated the German Café in Hamilton until their retirement. They enjoyed traveling, fishing, and gardening. Marvin passed away on February 23, 2005. In 2007, she moved to the Country Estates in Cavalier.

Survivors include her sons: Kenneth and Dwayne Briese; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren; siblings: Louie (Maida) Stark, Gertrude Bjornson and Mary Hanson. Also preceding her in death were her parents; granddaughter, Jennifer Briese; brother, Reinhold Stark; and sister, Alma Jackson.
