Isabelle R. Van Hauen

Isabelle R. Van Hauen, 77, of Earlville died Oct. 20, 2005 at Mendota Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 24 at the Hanley-Turner Funeral Home in Earlville with Rev. Donald D. Knowles officiating. Burial will be at Precinct Cemetery, rural Earlville. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23 at the funeral home with a service by the Moose at 4:45 p.m.

Mrs. Van Hauen was born Nov. 24, 1927 in Tonica to Lawrence and Mary (Strange) Stanford. She married Donald Link on April 5, 1947 in Ottawa. Following his death in 1967, she married Donald Van Hauen on Feb. 15, 1969 in Earlville.

Survivors include her husband; six children, Rosemary (Ed) Deaton of Austin, Ind., Duane (Dixie) Link of Benton, Ky., Kurt Link of Rancho Cordba, Calif., Vickie (Warren) Reed of Rock Falls, Richard (Kayla) Link of Tampico and Bonnie (Larry) Anderson of Tampico; seven step children, Jerry (Brenda) Van Hauen of Seward, James (Peggy) Van Hauen of Rockford, Donita (Bud) Pearson, Dennis Van Hauen of Rockford, Debbie (Alan) Carter of Rockford, Janet (Bill) Meyers of Rockford and Edward Van Hauen of Rockford; 22 grandchildren; 13 step grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 18 step great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one sister, Audrey (Glen) Davis of Aurora; one brother, Kenneth (Lee) Stanford of Tucson, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; one son, Darrell Link; one brother, Leo Stanford; and one sister, Betty Olsen.

Mrs. Van Hauen worked as a cook and waitress in many restaurants in Sandwich, Somonauk and Earlville. She volunteered as the NOA site manager at Earlville Restaurant for 11 years and was a member of the Ottawa Moose Lodge since 1970. She enjoyed making Christmas ornaments and crafts for her family and many friends.
