Alicia Marie Stakem, 30, who was recognized as being the first born in the greater Harrisburg area on Jan. 1, 1986, passed away July 27.
She grew up in Williamstown and Palmyra, graduating from Williams Valley High School in 2004. She attended Shippensburg University before making North Carolina her home.
Alicia was a beautiful and vibrant girl with a radiant smile who always put others before herself. She loved all animals and was a leading member of the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League. She was loved and will be missed by family and many friends. Alicia loved dancing, music, costumes and laughter.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Helen Pat Stakem.

Alicia is survived by her father, Shawn Stakem; mother, Cathy Swank Stakem; sister, Tiffany Stakem; her very close aunt, Donna Swank Graeff; grandfather, Donald Swank; grandmother, Joan Bowerman Adams; grandfather, Michael Stakem.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Benigna's Creek Vineyard and Winery, 1585 Ridge Road, Klingerstown.
