Daughter of Will and Mary Doris Davis Stackhouse, wife of Charles Francis Anderson.


MARION - Mrs. Edith Stackhouse Anderson, 68, died in the Marion Memorial Hospital Wednesday after an illness of several weeks.

Born in Marion [now Dillon] County, she was the oldest child of Will Stackhouse and Mary Davis Stackhouse.

Mrs. Anderson was graduated from Randolph Macon Woman's College in 1914. For some years she served as hotel inspector under the State Board of Health. She also taught in the schools of the state. More recently she had resided in Marion. She was a member of the Marion Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son, William S. Anderson of Virginia Beach, Va.; a sister, Esther Stackhouse of Marion; two brothers, Thomas F. Stackhouse of Florence and Will Stackhouse of Rockville, Md.; and 2 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Smith Brothers Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. L. E. Pope. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
