Mrs. Anna Margaret Staab, 83, 501 Wilson, died Tuesday, June 19, at a Topeka hospital.
She was born Dec. 6, 1900 in Pfeifer, Russia, the daughter of Peter A. and Mariann Suppes Hefner.
She moved to the United States in 1911 and lived in Topeka since October 1926 when she moved from Amarillo, Texas.
Mrs. Staab was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Daughters of Isabella, Legion of Mary and Stanta Fe Old Timers Club.
She was married to Joseph Staab Nov. 9, 1920 at Hays. He survives.
Other survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Lillian Fitzpatrick, La Junta, Colo., Mrs. Lucinda Isabell and Mrs. Rosemary Schumacher, both of Hays, and Mrs. Mary Agnes Sacco, Milford, Mass.; two sons, J. W. Staab Jr., Chicago, Ill., and F. R. [Richard] Staab, Topeka; 24 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Staab will lie in state from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Brennan Funeral Home where rosaries will be recited by Daughters of Isabella at 6 p.m., Legion of Mary at 6:30 p.m., the parish at 7 p.m., Christian Mothers at 7:30 p.m. and Knights of Columbus Council No. 534 at 8 p.m. today.
