ARTHUR G. SPURLING

Arthur G. Spurling, 70, of 5419 2nd Street, died in a local hospital June 18 after a brief illness.

Mr. Spurling was born in Tennessee May 20, 1897, and had lived in Everett for 65 years. He was a retired carpenter and an Army veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church and a trustee of the Church for 40 years, a member of the Everett Gem & Rock Club, and Everett Barrcks No. 132, Veterans of World War I.

He leaves his widow, Mrs. Mary E. Spurling of 3227 Rockeller Avenue; two sons, William M. Spurling of 15225 Ash Way, Lynnwood and Arthur Gilbert Spurling of Rt. 3 Paulsbo; three daughters, Mrs. Edward Church of 19330 Larch Way S., Lynnwood, Mrs. Marilyn Lee Ogden in the Phillippine Islands and Mrs. Alvan D. Allan of Rt. 3, Wenatchee; two brothers Rev. Howard Spurling of Rt. 3 Sedro-Woolley and Ernest Spurling of Rt. 3 Sedro-Woolley; and 13 grandchildren.

Services: Wednesday, 11 a.m. at the Free Methodist Church, Pacific and Lombard Avenues, Rev. John rupert will officiate; burial, Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Purdy & Wallers Funeral Home.
