Joe Emmett SPRINKLE
Joe Emmett Sprinkle, Msgt. USMC (Ret)., 90, of Spotsylvania, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Mary Washington Hospital. Mr. Sprinkle was a World War II veteran, retired from the National Park Service and was very active in his community.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Lee Sprinkle; daughters, Shirley Sprinkle and Carolyn Kepner (Bryan); brother, Don Sprinkle; sisters, Nina Barrow and Evelyn Brown; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Durham.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at noon at Quantico National Cemetery with full military honors.
Memorials may be made to Fredericksburg Baptist Church, 1019 Princess Anne St., Fredericksburg, VA 22401, or to Spotsylvania Fire and Rescue Attn: Fire Dept. P.O. Box 818, Spotsylvania, VA 22553.
