SHELBY - Mrs. Anna Mary Spottswood Hambrick, 57, of 106 Shadowgate Drive, departed this life on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at home.
A native of Newark, N.J., Anna was born July 29, 1950, to the late Alfonzo H. and Minnie B. Bundy Spottswood. Anna grew up in Newark, N.J. and graduated from East Orange High School. She worked for Loston Studio and Robert Hall. She also received a certificate from Wilford Academy of Beauty. She worked for Mullers Brothers Florist Co. for 35 years until her health no longer permitted. Mrs. Spottswood married her high school sweetheart, Clarence Hambrick III, of Friday, Jan. 2, 1987 and from that union was born, one daughter, Minnie Latasha Hambrick.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Clarence Hambrick III; her daughter, Minnie L. Hambrick; her randson, Dominick A. Russell; all of Shelby; two brothers and a sister, Donald H. Spottswood, Percy Scott and Minnie B. Curry, all of East Orange, N.J.; her step-son, Jamaal Hambrick of Orange, N.J.; her father-in-law, Clarence Hambrick Jr. of Shelby; sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Gardner of Hartford, Conn.; nephews, Larry "Butch" Curry Jr., Alfonzo "Sam" Spottswood, Butch Curry, Randy Curry and D'Angelo Curry; nieces, Amina R. Mateen-Muhamaad and Lisa D. Spottswood Brown; cousins, Consuella Bundy, Michelle Bundy, Kathleen Bundy, Carla Bundy, Lori Rashad and Chery Philson.
Funeral: Friday, May 23 at 1 p.m. at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the chapel 30 minutes before the service.
