Loretta was a 1956-B graduate of Lorain High School. A parishioner of St. Peter Parish, she had been employed in the shipping and receiving department of Invacare for twenty-seven years; Loretta retired in 2007. Previously, she had worked as a sales associate for several area variety stores including Uncle Bills, Zayre, and Ontario. She liked reading and especially enjoyed both mystery novels and works of fiction. She also was a fan of the author James Patterson. Her favorite pastime, however was spending time with her family and grandson.
Survivors include sons Darryl Oswalt of Lorain and Jerome Schopbel (fiancée Betty Grant) of Brooklyn, daughter JoEllen Schobel of Lorain and grandson Matthew Baumbick of Alameda, California. Additional survivors include brothers Ron Bahn (Shirley) of New London, John Bahn (June) of Lorain, and sisters Diane Wilson of Elyria, Shelley Mihajlovich of Lorain, and Karen Bahn (Bob Brucker) also of Lorain and many nieces and nephews.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years Joseph in January of 2016, by her father Chris Speroff in 1973, by her mother Ella Bahn in 2012. and by her nephew Pete Nechovski in 1989.
