BREWER, Edna Spence, age 82, of Emporia, passed away on January 10, 2011. She is survived by her husband, James Vernon Brewer of Emporia, Va.; a son, V. Ray Brewer of Bridgewater, Va.; two grandsons, Jonathan Brewer and Nathan Brewer; and three sisters, Myrtle Brewer, Annetta Sanderford and Julia Birdsong. She was predeceased by her son, Stephen E. Brewer; and two brothers, Claude Spence and Clarence H. Spence. A graveside service will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Greensville Memorial Cemetery, followed by a visitation from 2 to 3 p.m. at Echols Funeral Home.
