ARCHDALE – Mrs. Beulah Souther Blackwell, 95, formerly of 5018 Country Lane died October 23rd, 2012 at North Pointe Assisted Living in Archdale.
Mrs. Blackwell was born October 17th, 1917 in Wilkes County, a daughter to the late Kellie and Debbie Privette Souther. A resident of this area most of her life, she was raised in the Baptist Home Orphanage in Thomasville and later worked for Adams Millis Corp. and Crown Hosiery. She was a member of the Eastern Star, was of the Baptist faith and greatly enjoyed gardening. She was a devoted mother who will be missed by her family. Her husband, Troy W. Blackwell, preceded her in death in 1994. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded by two brothers, Luther and Lexie Souther.
Surviving is a son, Roger D. Blackwell and wife Sue of Archdale; and a grandson, Michael Blackwell of Trinity.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Floral Garden Park Cemetery with Rev. Bill V. Barnes officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. Memorials may be directed to Sophia Baptist Church, 4082 Millikan Rd. Sophia, NC 27350 or to Hospice of Randolph County, 416 Vision Dr. Asheboro, NC 27203 or to North Pointe Assisted Living, 303 Aldridge Rd. Archdale, NC 27263.
