ROSE SOUKUP was the 2nd child of August and Francis Plesek.
She was born on the winter solstice in 1920. (not sure if it was Dec. 21st or 22nd)
Grew up on an 8 acre farm in Shelton, one of 6 kids...
Rose met Andrew Bunk (a baseball player) in 1939.... On and off dating thru the dance years of Stratford & Bridgeport big bands, got married Nov 17th 1942...
About 1952 they bought their very own house on Pearl St. Seymour CT. They had many good years...had 4 kids...
Rose worked at Waterman Pen in Seymour, Sikorskys & Shick.
She had breast cancer about 1980 and rectal cancer. Rose lost her husband on April 19th, 1991.
After a few years she moved up to Prospect with her son.
In late 1998 she was diagnosed with bone cancer in the base of her skull. (her 3rd problem with cancer)
and congestive heart failure in 2001, had open heart surgery for a valve replacement. She came out fine and strong. We always thought she would live to 100.

November 2, 2004 Waterbury Hospital E.R.
Rose had a fatal massive heart attack at 7:10 AM on election day (Bush/Kerry) November 2nd, 2004 ....
Even after all her medical problems,
she was a good wife to her husband and a great mother to her 4 kids.....
