Doris Alberta Granger Sorter, 75, of Hemphill, TX, died September 9, 2004, at Lufkin Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Orange, TX and had lived in Hemphill since 1973, moving here from Orangefield, TX. She was an avid fisherman in bass tournaments and a fishing guide on Rayburn and Toledo Lakes. She was a member of Eastern Star, and attended Bethany Baptist Church. There will be a graveside service for family and friends at Granger Cemetery on Old Mansfield Ferry Road in Orangefield at 3:00 p.m. Survivors include sons, Jimmy Sorter and wife Tanya of Hemphill, TX, Pete Sorter and wife Pam of Hemphill, TX, Joe Bob Sorter and wife Lorena of Orangefield, TX; son-in-law, Lanis Ray Cobb of Orange, TX; brother, Winfield "Wimp" Granger and wife Martha of Orangefield, TX; sister, Laverne "Aunt Bum" Vaughn and husband Richard of Kirbyville, TX; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by daughter, Leslie Laverne Cobb.
