Virginia Rose Anderson passed away in her residence on Sunday, June 28, 2009. Virginia was born in Hayes, LA on February 13, 1928 to parents, Alle and Norma Sonnier. She lived the majority of her life in Lake Charles. She was an accomplished artist and was instrumental in opening the first art gallery in Lake Charles. Virginia, known as "Jenny", spent countless hours in her green house, flower gardens, and in her home creating beauty all around her. She had a passion for life, people, pets, painting, and interior design. At just 18 years old, she bought and restored a lovely home downtown and ran a boarding house for numerous years. As a young adult, she enjoyed dancing and hosting parties for a great circle of friends. She is survived by her son, Phillip "Flip" Anderson; one brother; and four sisters. It was Virginia's last wish not to have a funeral service, but for her friends and family to remember her as she was in life. Arrangements were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
