A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Emella Sonnier Granger, 92 will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Our Lady Catholic Church with Father Paul Broussard officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath beginning on Friday, May 7, 2010 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM, with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, May 8, 2010 from 9:00AM until the time of service. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.

A native of Youngsville, and a resident of Erath, Mrs. Granger passed away at 10:43AM on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at a local hospital. Mrs. Granger was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great Grandmother who loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her four sons, Norris Granger and his wife Mary of Maurice, David Granger and his wife Dot of Maurice, Donald "Don" and his wife Vinette of Delcambre, Bobby Granger and his wife Christine of Breaux Bridge; her daughter, Peggy Maturin and her husband Fred of Abbeville; sister, Enella Sonnier Lopez of New Iberia; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vorise Granger, and her parents Jedeon and Victorine Guillot Sonnier; brothers Clement Sonnier , Paul Sonnier, Anatole Sonnier, Jules Sonnier, Usrin Sonnier , Luke Sonnier, Placide Sonnier, Leonence Sonnier, and Elana Meaux.

Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons.

David Funeral Home of Erath, 209 E. Putnam Street; (337) 937-0405 is in charge of the arrangements.
