Joy is survived by her son, Jay C. Brothers; as well as sisters, Joan Schiavone and Jill Phillips; and brother, Jay Soltis.
In her 40s, Joy went on to pursue higher education at Kent State University and rose to serve in Student Government during her first year. Joy was an active member of the United Church of God AIA in North Canton, and a woman of deep faith.
She is deeply missed and loved by family and friends who were touched by her life.
Funeral services will be held at the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Road NW, in Canton, at 1 p.m. today, Aug. 10, 2012.
Calling hours were held the previous evening from 5 to 8 p.m. Entombment will follow the funeral service at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
