Memorial service will be 11:00am, Saturday, February 27, 2016 at All Saints Chapel, Good Samaritan Society in Hastings with Pastor Dale Philips officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery. DeWitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service is handling arrangements.
Billie was born on July 27, 1919 to Merle M. and Flossie Snyder, who made their home on the Judy Ranch in Jewell County, Kansas. Billie moved to Hastings in 1937 and ten years later she married W.C. (Benny) Bienkowski Jr. She raised 6 beautiful children, and was an award winning volunteer at Mary Lanning HealthCare. Billie was also very active in her community, belonging to several social organizations, including the Elks Does, the Eagles, the VFW, and the Hastings American Legion. She was also an active member of the United Church of Christ. Billie loved spending time with her family and friends at her and Benny's cabin at Johnson Lake.
Billie is survived by two sons, Butch (Diana) Bienkowski, and Bob (Teresa) Bienkowski; four daughters, Pat (Jerome) Kurkowski, Sue Hanson, Jean (Wayne) Weber, and JoAnn (Dave) Erickson; eight grandchildren, Jim Kurkowski, Chuck Kurkowski, Tyler Hanson, Sara Weber, Molly Kircher, Bo Bienkowski, Lacy Bienkowski, and Amy Trinka; nine great grandchildren, Lorna Renson, Cody Kurkowski, Locklyn Grace Trinka, Harper Hanson, Brett Pappas, Harley Pappas, Jaden Pappas, Gracie Kircher, and Gage Kircher; two great great grandchildren, Deklyn Renson, and Eric Renson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Flossie; husband, Benny; three brothers, Curtis L. Snyder, Max Martin Snyder, and William Gene Snyder; two sisters, Clelia Bell Crowley, and Kathryn Marie Harm; and son-in-law, Courtney Hanson.
