Etta, daughter of J. W. and Mary Snyder, living on the Leet place near Orin Junction, was bitten twice by a rattlesnake on Thursday (8 Sep) afternoon in the garden of their home. She died Friday (9 Sep) forenoon. Her father charged at full speed horseback, changing to a hand cart, to get her to Dr. Wilson in Douglas. It was too late. The remains were interred in the Douglas cemetery Friday at 11 a.m.
