Daughter of Stephen Snider and and Ollie Mercer. Bessie married Wesley Elias Bevlin in 1929 in Wetzel Co., WV. She was living at 800 South Third Ave., Paden City, at the time of her death on Friday, July 22, 1988. She was born March 31, 1913, in Tyler County and was a Gold Star Mother, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary No. 86, Paden City; Eight and Forty of the American Legion, Clinton, Mo., Chapter 73 Order of Eastern Star, Clinton and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Paden City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Bevlin in 1963; three sons, Ulysses Headley, Charles Headley and Randall Bevlin. Surviving are two sons, one of Clayton, California (John P Headley) and the other of Paden City(Keith J Headley); and four grandchildren.
Friends were received at Mowery Trowbridge Funeral Home, Paden City, where services were held at 1 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Norman Butler officiating. Interment in Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville. American Legion Auxiliary memorial services were at 7 p.m. Sunday; Eastern Star memorial services were at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
