STRINESTOWN Eva Marie (Snelbaker) Mitzel, 57, passed on August 6, 2015, at her home. She was the wife of Charles "Troop" Mitzel. The couple shared almost thirty years of marriage. Born on January 6, 1958, in York, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy (Price) and Larne Snelbaker. She was 1975 graduate of Northeastern Sr. High School. Eva was a bookkeeper and an assistant manager at service stations including Sunco, Emigsville and Exon, Red Lion. Eva loved her family, especially her granddaughter, who brought her much joy. She was an animal lover and rescued several and was known to help people. She was a collector of Native American Indian items, especially wolves. Eva leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Charles Mitzel; son, David E. Snelbaker, fiancee Ginger Miller, of Red Lion; daughter, Samantha Mitzel, fiance Jamie Gill; granddaughter, Misty Raine Gill; sister, Lori Snelbaker, all of Strinestown; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded by her parents; grandson, Vincent Aidan; brother, Craig Snelbaker; sister, Leslie Snelbaker; mother- and father-in-law, Ivan and Arletta Mitzel. Memorial contributions may be sent to the SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406 to honor her love of animals. The Celebration of Life Service will be at the convenience of the family. Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements.
