Maudie B. Alexander, age 86, of Murphy, NC passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home.

Maudie B. was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC; daughter of the late Walter Witt and Beryl Robinson Sneed.

Maudie B. was an office manager for Cherokee Savings and Loan and also was an agent for New York Life Insurance Company.

She was an avid golfer resulting in two club championships at Cherokee Hills Golf Club where she was a long-time member. Maudie B. had four (hole-in-ones), three at Cherokee Hills and one at Mount Mitchell. She also loved bowling and continued to bowl in leagues until recently. Her interests also included painting, spending time with her many friends, and going to the beach.

Maudie loved her family. She was very loving and generous to people. Maudie B. was a member of the Murphy First United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard (Bud) Alexander; one brother and three sisters.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in the Peachtree Community.
