She was born on Sept. 20, 1911, in the Town of Lake Mills, the daughter of the late Henry and Helen (Christoffel) Homann. Alice married Albert 'Stubby' Blumenberg on Nov. 8, 1930. He died on Aug. 9,1949. She later married Gordon Smithback of Cambridge, on June 6, 1951. He died on Jan. 8, 1986. She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical LutheranChurch. Survivors include

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 16,2008, at 2:30 p.m. at ST. PAUL EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH with the Rev. James E. Rath officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Lake Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. on Friday at the church until the time of service. Memorials may be made to Lakeside Lutheran High School, St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Willowbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Activities Fund or Rainbow Hospice Inc. of Jefferson.
