She was age 22 and he was almost 21. They had eight children: Carra Lee, Troy William, Ervin Arnold, Connie Kay, Ransom Henry, Johnny Alton, Onnie Elizabeth, and Roy Wilson.

Her Parents were:
Julius Patrick Smith - 9/16/1844 - 4/7/1925 and Tempie Elizabeth McCall - 11/9/1844 - 5/5/1909. They were married Nov. 16, 1866 in Caldwell County, NC.
