Carolyn L. Smith, 83, of Lyman died Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford after a long illness. She was born December 23, 1930. She was educated in Sanford schools before going to USM in Portland and getting her business degree.

In June of 1948 she married Robert E. Smith in Yonkers, NY. He died on December 10, 2010.

Mrs. Smith worked Corning Components for years before retiring at age 55. During her retirement she worked at an antique shop.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Aaron Cabana.

Surviving are: 1 son: Ronald J. Smith & his wife Patricia of Lyman; 2 daughters: Diana Cabana & her husband Robert of Henderson, NC; Dolores Jette & her husband Scott of Port Charlotte, FL; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.

Visiting hours will be 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Most Holy Trinity Church of the Good Shepherd Parish in Saco. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005.
