Mabel Wilcox Smith was born August 20, 1894 in Henrietta, Texas. She was the daughter of Joseph Abraham Smith born April 14, 1865, Ark. and Martha McComas born Feb. 9, 1873, Tx.
Her parents were both school teachers, and her father succeeded in becoming a principal, as well as superintendent. Mabel had three siblings, Carr, Dewitt, and Evangeline. They lived in New Mexico and Texas.
Mabel, or Sybil as she preferred to be called, finished high school at the University of New Mexico as the small town in which her family lived didn't have a higher level learning institution at the time.
She worked at the Bank of El Paso as a stenographer. She met Charles Joseph Parker, born 1889 El Dorado, Ca. - Washington D.C. 1959, at a picnic social.
She was a very proper lady, homemaker, and nurturing mother. She enjoyed learning, reading,and traveling all her life. She and Charles Jos. Parker had two daughters.
She is buried next to her husband at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery in Prince Georges Co., Md.
