BURLINGTON - Dorilda Janet (Smith) Bedard, 97, passed away on Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, in Fletcher Allen Health Care.
She was born on March 26, 1914, in Racine, Quebec, Canada to Arthur and Emma (Pelland) Smith.
She was the widow of Laurent L. Bedard, a locally well-known businessman.
Janet was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis, The Catholic Golden Age and The World Apostlate of Fatima and was a parishioner of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by all her brothers and sisters.
She leaves her daughter and husband, Carol and Peter C. Potts, and grandson, Peter L. Potts, all of Burlington; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and her very dear friend, Carmen Sibley.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Msgr. Peter Routhier on Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at 9:30 a.m. in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. The Third Order of St. Francis provided an Honorguard.
Interment was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Albans. Arrangements were by Elmwood-Meunier, 97 Elmwood Ave., Burlington.
