|Birth: ||1870, Poland|
Please see Find A Grave Memorial 39061264 for her entry as Mary Lena Smith/Batdorf Stewart.
So little is known of her marriage to a man named Batdorf that we need to await input from other family members before we can expand this entry.
OBIT newspaper clipping, undated and paper not identified, provided by Chris L. (48321875) 4/30/2014.
"BATDORF -- Mrs. Lena Batdorf, 88, of Wellsville, Kas., died Friday in Osawatomie, Kas. She was born in Gardner, and had lived in Wellsville about 30 years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Batdorf also was a member of the Methodist church. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Etta Hedrick, and a son, Harry Stewart, both of Olathe: two sisters, Mrs. George Siehler, Wellsville, and Mrs. Edna Ewart, Bellflower, Calif., and a brother, Vernon Smith, Chicago. Funeral services were at 2 o'clock Monday at the Couglin chapel in Wellsville; burial was in the Olathe Cemetery."
The Holden family record gave her place of birth as Dabrowka, Prussia - in the part that became Poland. This is a clue not a fact. Note her obit says she was born in Gardner, KS.
