Nancy ' Smith' Futral is the daughter of Richard Smith and his wife Patience 'Atkinson' Smith who were married in Wilkes County, Georgia in 1790 (this information is from the Greene County, GA Heritage Book, 1786-2009) - Greene County, GA is also where Nancy 'Smith' married Benjamin Futral on (17 Oct 1811) - their children were Etheldred, Mary, Richard, James, Martha, Jane, Rebecca, William, Solomon, Sara, Jesse, Elizabeth, Alexander, and Nathaniel (in time, around 1830, Nancy and family moved to the 2nd District of Henry County, Georgia which later became Spalding County, Georgia.)

As to Nancy's year of birth, the 1870 US Census, which was enumerated (1 Aug 1870 ) in the Cabin District of Spalding County, GA, records Nancy as being 81 years of age at that time - Nancy passed away in 1872.

On (7 Oct 1872), Nancy's son Etheldred Futral, who was a farmer and blacksmith in the Midway community of Spalding County, GA, was appointed Administrator of Nancy's Estate by the Spalding County Court.

NOTE:
Nancy's headstone was placed at her gravesite (at a later date) by her grandson Thomas Walter Futral (the son of Alexander Sidney Futral.)

Find a Grave contributor (ID 48784694) has made it known that just recently a housing developer developed the land upon which the Crawley-Futral Family Cemetery is located without maintaining the integrity of the cemetery. The cemetery where Nancy 'Smith' Futral is buried is no longer viewable.
