Opal Goldman, 78, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013, after a long battle with cancer. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Friday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: 2 p.m. Friday in Boyd Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Evangel Family Outreach. Opal was born Oct. 17, 1934, in Boyd to Georgia and William Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Goldman; a son, Marlind Goldman; a sister and brother-in-law, Bernice Lisby and Hershell; and brother-in-law, Bill Simpson. Survivors: Daughters, Norma Phillips (Leon), and Judy Williams (Doug); son, Edward Goldman (Sherryl); nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice Simpson and Sharon Chapman; brother, George Smith (Roseanne); sisters-in-law, Levoy Gardner (Joe) and Jewell Mitchell; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
