Gladys May Smith was the daughter of Charles Eugene Smith and May Pearl Cook.

Gladys married Carson Leslie Bridges in 1937 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.

They became parents of Patricia Norma Bridges, Leslie Lee Bridges, and Vera Maxine Bridges.

After Carson died from complications of Type I diabetes and TB, Gladys met and married Jack Thomas Kramer on August 14, 1953 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. They became the parents of Cheryl Anne Kramer.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Carson L. Bridges, her son, Leslie Lee Bridges, and her grandson Melvin Thomas Clark.
