This town and community were shocked Wednesday morning upon learning of the sudden and unexpected death of Mrs. Milbrey Bragg, widow of the late John Bragg, at her home, half a mile east of Dresden. Mrs. Bragg retired Tuesday night in her usual health. She spent Tuesday afternoon assisting in cleaning the yard. When her daughter, Miss Lillie, who has been her mother's constant companion and faithful to her in every respect awoke Wednesday morning she found her mother cold in death beside her, and it is supposed that Mrs. Bragg died during the early morning hours of heart trouble.
The deceased was eighty-five years of age, and is survived by six children: Mrs. Flora Overton, Mrs. Anna Fulton and Miss Lillie Bragg; Messrs. George, James and Richard (Dick) Bragg. Her maiden name was Thomason, she being a sister of Hon. John R. Thomason. Mrs. Bragg had been a citizen of this vicinity for a long number of years. She was held in the very highest esteem by those who knew her. She was a noble Christian woman.
Funeral services were held at the family residence this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:30 by Revs. W. D. Pickens and G. T. Mayo. Interment at the Dresden cemetery.
