Mrs. Emma Smith Bitter, a resident of this city for the past 60 years and formerly of Kelleys Island, died Friday at 8:30 a. m., after an illness of one year. She resided at 321 E. Jefferson St, and was the widow of Jacob Bitter, who died March 16, 1939.
Survivors include one son, Norman J. Bitter, and one granddaughter, Marilyn, both of Sandusky.
The body was removed to the Frey Funeral Home, where friends may call after 7 p. m., Saturday and where funeral services will be held Monday at 8:30 a. m. Further services will be held at 9 a. m. at St. Mary's Church, of which she was a member, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. William C. Zierolf, officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
