Marjorie L. (Smith) Klanecky, 77, of Lincoln died Monday, Oct. 4, 2010. Marjorie was born July 9, 1933, at Grand Island to Howard J. and Mary G. (Haynes) Smith.

Survivors are: her husband, Glen; sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas Frank and Pat of Muskego, Wis., and Bryan Scott and Susan of Lincoln; daughters and sons-in-law, Camilla Sue and Steve of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Sonya Kay and James of Lincoln; grandchildren, Eli Kantorowicz, Ben and Josh Klanecky, all of Wisconsin, Alex Roper of Michigan, Adam Klanecky, Chelsea and Logan Erickson, all of Lincoln; great grandsons, Evan and Jack Kantorowicz of Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Margaret Smith, Lexington, Kent.; three nieces, Dr. Linnea J. Smith, Peru, South America, Betsy Ann Davis, Versailles, Kent., and Dr. Patricia Lee Pearce, Raleigh, N.C. and a host of friends and relatives.

She attended schools in Grand Island, graduating from high school in 1951. Became a lifelong member of Jobs Daughters and helped to start the Rainbow Girls Club in Grand Island. She played in the high school band, second chair clarinet. She attended Mary Lanning School of Nursing in Hastings, graduating in 1954. While in nurse's training she was a member of Sigma Tau Sigma sorority at Hastings College. She married Glen R. Klanecky on Jan. 23, 1955, and were blessed with four children. Marjorie worked at Mary Lanning Hospital 1954-1957. They moved to Lincoln in 1957. She returned to work at Bryan Memorial Hospital East in 1963 and worked there 30 years, retiring April 1994.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, travel, music, crafts and making hair pin lace afghans.

She was preceded in death by parents and a brother, Melvin.
