Mrs. Nancy passed away unexpectedly, March 24, 2011, at her home where she lived for 39 years. She was a member of Rayville First Baptist Church, a math teacher for over 25 years at Rayville Junior High School then at Riverfield Academy. She loved teaching and sewing, but especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was also a member of The Daughters of American Revolution.
She was preceded in death by her parents Carl Smith and Catherine Balfour Smith, husband Gordon Edward Davis, Sr., a brother Carl James Smith, sister Ethel Mae Williamson, and a son-in-law Thomas G. Walters, Jr.
She is survived by three sons, Gordon E. Davis, Jr. and his wife Donna of West Monroe, LA, David Balfour Davis and his wife Linda Nell of Ashdown, AR, James Wesley Davis and his wife Leigh of Baton Rouge, LA, a daughter, Carla Davis Walters of Monroe, LA, eight grandchildren, Tori Davis, Christopher Davis, Elizabeth Davis, Carolyn Davis, Thomas Walters, Matthew Walters, Mary Caroline Davis and Benton Davis, two sisters, Balfour Pipes and Wilma K. Temple and her husband Glen both of Rayville, LA, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Harvey Williamson, Donnie Williamson, Scott Pipes, Joey Pipes, John Blackwell and John Miller.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her Sunday School class.
Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home or to Rayville First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time at the church.
