Arthur Smith went quietly to the Lord, April 25, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital. He came to Fort Lewis, WA in 1952, a member of the U.S. Army. Arthur served for 29 years, including duty in Germany, Japan, Vietnam and Korea. He received the Good Conduct Medal (7th and 8th awards), the Bronze Star and the Oak Leaf Cluster. Arthur joined Allen A.M.E. Church in 1954. Between tours of duty he served on the Usher Board and as a Steward. Preceding him in death are his mother, father and 2 sisters. Leaving to cherish his memory, a devoted wife, Fannie H. Smith (Tacoma).
