Visitation is Friday from 5- to 9 p.m., at Brookhaven Funeral Home, and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m., at the church.
Mrs. Smith, 71, died Oct. 26, 2005, in an automobile accident in Lincoln County. She was born in Brookhaven on Oct. 1, 1934, to Poley Lofton and M.L. Montgomery Lofton.
She was a librarian at Copiah-Lincoln Community College and was a former store owner. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Louis Smith.
Survivors are her sons, Dale Smith, of Brandon, Terry Smith, of Hattiesburg, and Mike Smith, of Wesson; her sister, Faye Williams, of Clinton; her brother, Dewey Lofton, of Brookhaven; her aunt, Ovelia Ratcliff, of Brookhaven; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
