She was the daughter of the late Jake and Nancy Catherine Reece Neatherly. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. "Bob" Smith, in 1965; a son, Curtis Smith, December 25, 1996; four sisters, Mae Courtner, June Holly, Jeroma Crockett and Elsie Mace; and two brothers, Oliver Heatherly and Smith Neatherly.

Funeral services was conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 3, 1999 at Memorial Funeral Chapel.

Interment will be at Happy Valley Memorial Park.
