ASHLAND -- Edna L. Aber Smeltzer, 84, of County Road 1475, died Friday morning, Feb. 23, 2001, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, after a long illness.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 123 W. Third St., Ashland, with the Rev. Richard Boyer, Pastors Paul Ritchey and Dale Smeltzer officiating. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park.

Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Ashland.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to First Presbyterian Church or Paradise Hill United Methodist Church.

Roberts Funeral Home in Wooster is handling arrangements.

She was born June 6, 1916, in Ashland, to Ira and Iva (Barrone) Morr and married Parke M. Aber on Dec. 24, 1934. He died June 9, 1968. She then married Jacob Ray Smeltzer on Sept. 4, 1971. He survives.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Rex and Maryanne Aber of Largo, Fla. and Roger and Tracy Aber of Springboro; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Dwayne and Linda Smeltzer of Ashland; two stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Rob Scott of Greenfield, Ind., and Marlene and Ron Armstrong of Perrysville; seven grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
