Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary for Lyle L. SMELSER, 58, who died Saturday at his home, 732 Twiss. He had cancer.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
He was born Oct. 2, 1909 in Topeka and spent most of his life in Topeka.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the 70th Division in the Army in Germany.
He was a member of Oakland Christian Church.
He was employed by the Magnus Metal Company 18 years and later was employed three years by the Shawnee County Road and Bridge Dept.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Vivian Smelser, at home; a son, Lonny L. Smelser, Park Forest, Ill.; a brother, Gilbert Smelser, 1127 Monroe; and a granddaughter.
