Funeral services for James Harold Sloas,63, Route 1, Webbville, who died Monday, Sept. 14 will be conducted at 11:am Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Willard Missionary Baptist Church by Ronnie Graves. Burial will be in Carter County Memory Gardens.
Mr. Sloas was born Sept 13, 1918, in Elliott county. He was the son of Jesse and Jeanette McDavid Sloas. He was an Army veteran of World War II, was a farmer and a member of Willard Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of the Willard Masonic Lodge 626 F&AM, was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Grayson Chapter 10, Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edna Lawson Sloas; two daughters, Miss Shelia Sloas of the home, and Mrs. Saundra Chadd of Kansas City, Mo; a brother, Forrest Sloas of Elyria, Ohio; and two grandchildren.
The body is at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson, where friends may call today after 7 p.m. today. It will be taken to the church an hour before services. Pallbearers will be Willis Porter, Bert Evans, Wilbur Oney, Gerald Sloas, Edward Sloas, and Mere Blevins.
